Dr Melinda Hickey

Clinical Psychologist and Neurofeedback Practitioner

Melinda (she/her) has completed a PhD (Clinical Psychology) in neurofeedback treatment for Traumatic Brain Injury. In addition she has completed Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA) approved training in neurofeedback treatment for a range of other difficulties including ADHD, depression and anxiety, trauma, chronic pain and fatigue, and peak performance.

Melinda is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a member of The Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA).  She has eight years experience as a psychologist working with a broad range of mental health concerns, and her primary focus has been in the treatment of long-term emotional and interpersonal difficulties associated with complex trauma.  Her approach is always focused on building an authentic relationship through which her clients can feel safe, validated, and supported in making the changes in their lives that uniquely suit them.

At Resonate, Melinda likes to focus on the big picture.  She understands that brain activity is only one aspect of your emotional well-being.  She is interested in who you are as a person, not just what your brain looks like, and takes an integrative approach to neurofeedback.  This means she will take your lead on what changes you’d like to see and draw on the evidence-based neuroscience, psychology, and psychosocial strategies that can get you there.

If you’re curious or unsure if neurofeedback is right for you, Melinda is happy to have an initial phone consult to discuss your needs.
